Rates & Insurance

Rates

$160 per 50-minute session. Rarely, I adjust that fee on an emergency or near-pro-bono basis. Longer or shorter sessions are unusual.

Insurance

It is terrific if you have health insurance that covers mental health. Although I am not a paneled provider with insurances, we can verify whether you have out-of-network coverage that would reduce your out-of-pocket expense.

I can also provide a superbill for out-of-network coverage. To work out-of-network, we might want to know about your deductible, any written approval requirements from your primary physician, and coverage for telehealth.

Why I am not contracted (in-network) with private health insurances

In exchange for price reduction through coverage, insurance can present therapists and clients with dilemmas.

Here are some of the aspects most important for you:

  • The insurance company can limit the amount or type of services they will cover, regardless of your needs
  • Submitting claims gives a large, cost-focused corporation access to sensitive information
  • Insurance company reimbursement requires a disclosed diagnosis (a medical label that can follow you)
  • There can be a long waiting list for insurance-contracted service, contracted practitioners are often ‘full’, etc.

Issues which can impact the quality of my work with you:

  • It is difficult to get on insurance panels; they limit their networks
  • Even occasionally disputed, audited, or unpaid claims eat up energy therapists need for clients
  • Contracts can make client-sensitive financial flexibility difficult

Payment

I accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Sessions are billed a few hours to a few days after each session.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 business hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged the full rate for a session.

For a business hours example, if your appointment is Monday at 1 p.m., you should call to cancel by Friday at 1 p.m. If your appointment is Tuesday at 1 p.m., you should call by Monday at 1 p.m.
